I am a friendly, down-to-earth therapist, passionate about the healing work of psychotherapy in its different forms.
I am an experienced psychotherapist, working both online and face-to-face. I am based in the beautiful town of Glossop, in the High Peak where I work mainly with clients from the North West of England. I also work with Spanish-speaking clients across the UK, Europe and Latin America.
I am a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy and abide by its ethical framework.
Psychotherapy can help people experiencing emotional, social or mental health issues. Some people come to therapy because they are struggling with issues from their past which are holding them back from living a happy and satisfying life in the present. Others come for more current issues. There are no right or wrong reasons for coming to therapy, and I am always interested in listening to your own, particular story.
I have a special interest in helping women with the challenges that come with living in our current society and the impact that going through the different life stages has on our mental and physical health. I work with young adults through to women going through their menopause. I am also a trauma-informed therapist.
Common themes I have worked with include:
General Feelings of Unhappiness
Depression and Low Mood
Past Trauma
Relationship issues
Low Confidence and Low Self-Esteem
Anxiety, Stress and Burn-Out
Parenting
Neurodivergence
Bullying and Peer Relationships
Performance Anxiety
I have completed four years’ Clinical Training in Integrative Psychotherapy and hold a Diploma in Transactional Analysis TA. I use an Integrative Therapeutic approach which reflects my range of experience and training. I have a special interest in working creatively alongside Talking Therapy. This way of working, especially Sandplay Therapy, can be a powerful tool to help us express our feelings and emotions when words fail to describe them.
Alongside my formal training, I draw from a broad life experience including growing up abroad, motherhood and a career as a professional orchestral musician for the past 20 years. Most importantly I value my own therapeutic journey, which started when I was a very young adult. I am compassionate, thoughtful and empathetic, and feel that the relationship in therapy plays a huge part in its success. Click here to learn more about me.
