About me

My journey into therapy began sitting on the client’s side of the room. I was in my early twenties, about to go abroad to continue my studies and embark on an exciting new life experience, but rather than feeling excited, I was filled with anxiety, guilt, and a real low confidence. Seeking the help of a therapist at that time, not only allowed me to travel abroad as planned, but it also started a personal journey of self-discovery and the understanding of others that continues to this day.

My collaborations with the various therapists I have met over the years have helped me navigating the challenges that inevitably, living in our modern society bring, but most importantly it has provided me with several internal resources to cope with those challenges. Those resources and strength were there within me all along, but I just couldn’t value them or appreciate them. And in all cases, the relationship I established with my therapist was paramount to my discoveries and my feeling stronger and more content.

Previous to my work as a therapist, I have been a member of a Symphony Orchestra since 2004, and I have also been a Clarinet teacher since 2008 both with children and at university level. My work as a professional musician has been both challenging and rewarding in almost equal measures. It has involved lots of travelling in the UK and abroad, working with people from different cultures and nationalities, and often working unsociable hours, but without a doubt, trying to understand and overcome the challenges that come with that sort of job, has shaped the person and therapist that I am now.

About 10 years ago, I became more interested in seeing the therapeutic work from the opposite chair, partly to understand what happens in therapy from the perspective of the therapist but also eventually to have enough experience and knowledge to be able to help others in the same way I was helped.
